This upfit project called for building out two apartment condo units above an operational brewery to be used as short-term rentals. Our team executed a complete renovation of the second floor of an existing historic building in downtown Mount Airy. The scope of work transformed the 3,000-square-foot vacant space into a total of four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, two large kitchens, and ample living space. With high-end features such as quartz countertops in the kitchen areas, custom glass vanity tops in the bathrooms, and marble shower walls create an amazing space that is incorporated along with the century-old floor that was restored and refinished. Modern building codes required a sprinkler system that was incorporated around the original exposed brick and beam construction that the owner wanted to preserve. Major trades involved included mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire suppression, along with providing meticulous attention to the hardwood flooring restoration, imported bathroom tile, numerous high-end finishes, and custom wood trim throughout. The project welcomed the first tenants in May 2022, and both units have been rented out at a staggering occupancy rate since opening for short-term rentals.
